Services
As a sub-contract engineering company, we specialise in a comprehensive range of component manufacturing, fabrication, assembly and refurbishment work in addition to rapid prototyping and testing. Specific customer requirements may include the repetitive production of components, or the development of larger unique “one-off” units. Our continuous investment in personnel, processes and cutting edge equipment makes us highly efficient, which in turn enables us to deliver the right product on time, on budget and often within fast turnaround times.
Machining
Our carefully selected and extremely comprehensive range of both manual and automatic CNC 3 and 4 axis machines, including brands Hurco and Mazak, allows us to allocate the most suitable selection of equipment to your specific project, whether that involves milling, turning, slotting, or drilling. This ensures optimum accuracy and finish quality, which is compatible with OEM specifications.
Milling Section Capability:- up to 6000mm X-Axis, 1500mm Y-Axis, 1500mm Z-Axis
Turning Section Capability:- up to 915mm diameter
Routing Section Capability:- up to 3080mm X-Axis, 2170mm Y-Axis, 200mm Z-Axis
Keeping pace with technology, we work with downloadable data supplied direct from the customer to the machine centre. Electronic file transfers such as .DFX or .IGES can be imported to our CAD/CAM stations and in turn be converted to CNC programs, these provide a reference database for each job.
Welding & Fabrication
With more than 45 years of specialist fabrication experience, we deliver components of many different sizes and complexities. Some involve small metal/alloy precision parts. Others are larger structural industrial fabrications. We use TIG, MIG, MMA and GAS sets, plus arc welding machines, punching and guillotine equipment in one central location.
The result is fully-completed assembled products that may include machined and fabricated sub-components. In many cases, we can assemble to drawings prior to testing on site and delivery to the customer.
Specialist Facilities
Our specialised facilities include Projection Welding and Induction Brazing.
Our welding facilities have operators with BS EN 287-1-2004 approval; we can fabricate both large and small components in a range of materials.
- Aluminum
- Brass
- Bronze
- Copper
- High Temperature Alloys
- Stainless and Speciality Steels
Our Fabrication division is ideally placed to cater for a diverse customer base and accommodate the needs of niche industries including railway, nuclear, aerospace, oil and gas. We place strong emphasis on customer service, our fully-qualified professional team will work with you to ensure the product is exactly what you want, right through from the initial enquiry to the finished component or assembly. Projects can be planned from several origins, including via drawings and samples. Continuous investment in the latest cutting and CNC machining technology has been key to the company’s growth over the past few years, and our state-of-the-art facilities enable us to supply all fabrication requirements to the UK’s highest standards, at consistently competitive prices.
Refurbishment & Assembly
The constant changing demands of the railway industry has meant adaption to these requirements and, in order to be fully focused we formed a separate Railway Engineering Division. This division specialises in repair, overhaul and testing of mechanical/electrical components as well as the manufacture of new components and assemblies to OEM standards and specifications.
We understand railway components and assemblies, having over 45 years experience meeting the necessary legal and safety requirements, working to WOSS (Workshop Overhaul Standard Specification).
Our rail customers include Unipart Rail, Bombardier, Wabtec and Metrolink. he below PDF indicates the specifications followed for overhauled assemblies.
